SCREEN PRINT SKILL SHARE saturday 6th march

hi everyone, the skill share session that happened on Saturday 6th march was a success, a few people dropped out leaving three remaining which meant all participants had the advantage of a bed each(not to sleep in of course, i wasnt that boring).
i think at least two of the three will be hiring in future and the day went well everyone went home with a print and a little more knowledge and i enjoyed helping to spread the joy of screen printing.
if anyone out there is interested or knows someone interested in doing a skill share with me in the print room my contact details are below. also for those with print/illustration/art skills to share please step up and contact emma gregory at the bluecoat, it a voluntary exercise that makes you feel good.

music out the window

Just thought I'd post something new. This is a screen print I made a couple of weeks ago at the Bluecoat's new screen printing studio. I used a photo exposure technique for the pink and dark maroon elements, though the splatter is chalk dust stencil! (I just had to try it after the demonstration that Neil Morris gave).  Looking forward to working and volunteering in the studio this spring.   http://liverpoolprintmakers.blogspot.com/

craft fair

Keiron, Jane and I (Mary) had a wonderful time yesterday at the Craft and contemporary art fair at the Bluecoat. We had a table selling handmade Christmas cards, books, and screen printed bags, and original prints. The weather held out most of the day, just very cold really, and the place was buzzing with people.

We'll be there again next Saturday, so please stop by! The fair is open from  11-5.

logo and book arts

Hi everyone!

Here's the final logo, let me know what you think. I think it's pretty solid.

Also, I'm going to book the print studio for August 25th & 26th for the book arts demo. That's a Tuesday and Wednesday. Emma is starting a skills share project and this is my show&tell turn. It's open to anyone who is either in the illustrators group or to anyone who wants to be a part of the skills share project. We get two sessions in the studio for this, so I'll be running the workshop twice.
See you all tomorrow in the studio!

-Mary
